Whenever a page on your site doesn't load, an error message will be shown to the site visitor. Because there are different errors, there are different pages which will appear, but what is common for all of them is that they're generic and in all probability shall have nothing that resembles the design of your website, which may be annoying for any site visitor. That is the reason why website hosting providers have introduced a function called Custom Error Pages. For a range of different errors, visitors will see your custom made content, which could be informative or funny, depending on your preference, and that will match the overall style and design of your website, so the pages won't appear as if they aren't part of your website at all. You may use this option for a number of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).

Custom Error Pages in Cloud Website Hosting

You can set up customized error pages for each of your domains or subdomains. The function is supported by all cloud website hosting package that we provide, so when you log in to the Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Hosted Domains section, you can click on the Edit button for a domain/subdomain and in the pop-up that"ll be displayed, you could choose the type of error page that should show up - a default one from our system, a conventional Apache server page or a personalized one. For the aforementioned option, you'll have to assign the URL to the page, so if you use personalized pages, you must upload the files in your web hosting account first. An alternative way is to use an .htaccess file positioned in the domain or subdomain folder with a line for every error type. The exact syntax can be seen in our Knowledge Base, to help you use this feature even if you don't have any previous experience.
